We provide access to the datasets and open-source software developed as part of the research conducted in the Paul A. Hotmer Family Cybersecurity and Teaming Research (CSTAR) lab. Following is a list of available resources, some of them are readily accessible while others could be accessed after a request.

Drone Forensics Software

Researchers at CSTAR lab recently developed a comprehensive micro-UAV/drone forensics framework. This is an open source software and following resources are available:

  • Version 1 of the software on Github.
  • Version 2 of the software on Github.
  • KML files for use in the software on Github.
Android Malware Traffic Dataset

This dataset was collected through installation and usage of each benign as well as malicious app within the Drebin dataset. We are happy to release our dataset to researchers. However, to avoid any misuse, please read and agree to the following conditions before sending us emails.

  • Do not redistribute this data without our consent.
  • Do not make commercial usage of this data.
  • Get a faculty, or someone in a permanent position, to agree and commit to these conditions.

Release Policy:

  1. If you are currently in academia:
    • Student (or postdoc): please ask your advisor (or PI or host) to send us an email for the access.
    • Faculty: please send us the email from your university's email account.
    • In your email, please include your name, affiliation, and homepage (if we do not know each other). The information is needed for verification purpose. Your request may be ignored if we are not able to determine your identity or affiliation.
  2. If you are currently in research labs:
    • Please send us an email from your company's email account along with a justification and statement regarding the proposed use of our dataset.

Emails that do not follow the above instructions will be ignored. By requesting the dataset, you agree that we will disclose your organization on this webpage. Emails should be sent to ahmad.javaid@utoledo.edu

VIRI (Visual Image and Infrared Image) Database

Researchers at CSTAR lab recently collected a comprehensive database of facial expressions of 110 participants. Each participant posed for five emotions namely happy, sad, angry, surprise and neutral. We are happy to release our dataset to researchers. However, to avoid any misuse, please read and agree to the following conditions before sending us emails.

  • Do not redistribute this data without our consent.
  • Do not make commercial usage of this data.
